Learn the system one layer at a time.

The tutorial path starts with Chosen sheets and generic cards, then adds movement, Channel, Offering, Gates, elemental regions, and story tests.

01

Meet the Chosen

Read ATK, FORT, RNG, MOB, INT, SPD, and LIFE. Learn what Basic Strike, normal Move, AP, and MP do before cards complicate the picture.

02

Build a tiny Circle

Use a 20-card tutorial deck. Draw an opening hand from total INT and keep hand size tied to non-defeated allied Chosen.

03

Move on the board

Use orthogonal movement, range, adjacency, line of sight, terrain, and Gate spaces on the 9x9 grid.

04

Play basic cards

Use generic cards to teach cost, target, timing, Action, Flow, Reaction, Stack, and Priority before adding elemental identity.

05

Channel resources

Place cards into the Channel Zone, wait for them to become Ready, then exhaust Ready Channel cards for Essence when appropriate.

06

Use Offering

Learn defensive combat-chain decisions: overcome for stronger prevention, generate for lighter prevention, or accept that neutral cards prevent nothing by default.

07

Contest Gates

At Gate Control, compare adjacent allied Chosen. More adjacent Chosen controls the Gate; ties contest it; empty Gates are uncontrolled.

08

Enter story mode

Use Element Tests, Trials, Realms, scenario Beings, Structures, companions, and Moribito-style consequences to connect mechanics with narrative.

Quick path

Start with Kai, Shizuku, and Taizen.

A fast striker, a flow support, and a gate-holding guardian show the system's spread: speed pressure, support tempo, and board control. Add Renka for ranged Wood pressure, then introduce Yin characters once the basic loop is stable.
